RESOURCES:
The Lake County 4-H provides young people with hands-on learning experiences in a safe and welcoming environment. In 4-H programs, kids and teens complete hands-on projects in areas like health, science, agriculture and civic engagement in a positive environment where they receive guidance from adult mentors and are encouraged to take on proactive leadership roles. These young people will develop the skills needed to make a positive impact in their community as well as the world.
The Lake County Horsemen’s Association furthers the knowledge and promotes interest in the development, proper care, and training of horses. They also engage in horse activities such as horse shows, trail rides, clinics, and play days.
Lake County Libraries provide inviting community spaces to nurture young readers, explore stories and information, and connect with others. The Lake County Library District consists of the Main Library in Lakeview, and branches in Paisley, Christmas Valley and Silver Lake. The Lake County Libraries provide free public library services to all residents living within Lake County.
The Lake County Junior Rodeo is a 1 day rodeo August with an average of 90 to 100 contestants. It is organized by the Lake County Junior Rodeo Association, a nonprofit group of volunteers whose goal is to put on a rodeo for local area and regional youth.
